DR NICHOLAS IGNATENKO
Nick graduated from UNSW at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 1990. After completing a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, London in 1994, he worked as Regional Coordinator of Tuberculosis Programmes in Russia for a British aid organisation, MERLIN.
He commenced anaesthesia training in 1997 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, but returned to London for fellowships in cardiothoracic anaesthesia at Royal Brompton and neuro-anaesthesia at Atkinson-Morley Hospitals.
He has been a consultant anaesthetist since 2003 with current appointments at St. Vincent’s Private, St. Luke’s and Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospitals. His interests are in anaesthesia for cranial/spinal and upper abdominal surgery; regional anaesthesia of the upper and lower limbs; and Total Intravenous Anaesthesia. He undertook a sabbatical to Princess Marina Hospital, Gabarone, Botswana in 2016.
